Hand lettering and label design for a boutique winery.

Contrefort wine label
It's clear that vigneron-winemaker Etienne Mangier loves what he does. From the way he cares for his beautiful vineyard, to his exceptional home-cooking, everything is done with a great respect for good food and good wine.
Etienne asked me to design a label for Contrefort, a sister to his original brand, North Wine. Inspired by the winecountry of his native France and his adopted home in Mount Macedon, Contrefort means 'foothills' and uses natural fermentation and minimal intervention techniques to create wines on quite another level to the offering at your local bottle shop.
I created a custom title for the label with an elegant, yet hand-made feel. The lettering trails off into the mountain lines describing Etienne's love for nature and the small-batch processes of his brand. Photography of the deep blue label on an orange backdrop lets you know that this is the wine you want to be toasting with as you watch a spectacular sunset over the mountains.
